LOGAN–”They burned freaking toast,” said Alexandria Douglas, a resident of Valley View Tower said as the fire alarm of western tower went off at 12: 03 a.m. on Monday, October 5.

Anneliza Brito and Inelsi Joga made sandwiches on a grill and accidentally sent of the second floor’s fire alarm, sending everyone rushing out the building. They ran to the Mountain View Tower trying to escape the cold weather but came back to file a police report.

“There wasn’t even any smoke,” Brito said. “We were just hungry and wanted to eat some sandwiches. Is that so bad,” Joga said as she put her head on the kitchen counter.

The news traveled fast as Joga posted an apology on her wall. Ho Pun Ng, a resident of Greave’s Hall, told her that he could hear the alarm all the way from his apartment through Facebook chat, and Alexandria Douglas commented on her wall “Thank you, Inelsi, for setting off the fire alarm!”

The toast incident became the third time that the fire alarm went off in the girls’ tower since October 28, 2009. The Resident Assistant for the second floor, Aimee Haertel, got everyone out of the floor in time.
