LEWISTON — “In Lewiston, we actually like each other,” said former Lewiston City Council member Paul King. “It’s a good community.”

It’s also a community with some hidden attributes, as this profile of Lewiston by the numbers illustrates.

• 1,865 – Population in the current census.¹
• 700 – Public water hook-ups.¹
• 1 – Movie theaters. Tickets at the Lewiston Theatre are still only $2.⁵
• 495 – Students at Lewiston’s elementary/middle school.²
• 12 – Businesses in town.
• 71 – Home businesses.¹
• 55 – Paid part-time employees and volunteers working for the town.¹
• 25 – Town’s area (in square miles).¹
• 33,300 – Lewiston’s first sugar beet harvest, in tons, 1905. ⁶

• $48,458 –Estimated median household income, up from $36,417 in 2000.²
