LOGAN—In the first newscast of 2013, ATV News reports on:
• Dillard’s closes at the Logan Mall.
• Local response to possible moves toward gun control, and the Sandy Hook school massacre.
• It’s Arts Week at USU, and “Whispers of Silence,” a new sculpture by USU art professor Ryoichi Suzuki, is dedicated outside the Agricultural Sciences Building in freezing temps.
• USU celebrates the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
• Dedicated Beaver Mountain skiers love their mountain, but are curious about the planned 200-acre Cherry Creek ski area, planned to start construction in Richmond sometime this year.
• The USU Counseling Center goes to the (therapy) dogs.
• Weeks of sub-zero temps and the worst air in the nation, but a storm moving toward Utah may bring relief.
• USU’s own version of the hit TV show “Glee.”
• A costly basketball loss to New Mexico State.
