LOGAN—Logan Out Loud, Utah’s slightly irreverent comedy troupe, will perform a benefit show Friday for a USU public relations student who was injured in a November motorcycle accident that led to emergency brain surgeries and facial reconstruction.

The David Grange benefit starts at 7 p.m. Friday in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom at USU. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for non-students.

JCOMstudentsTractor2012“We aren’t doctors but we want to help where we can,” said Jonathan Ribera, co-creator of Logan Out Loud. “So we figure we can put our talent together by making people laugh and help raise some money for David while we are at it.”Grange is a very positive person, so a comedy show is an appropriate response to his accident.

“David has such a positive outlook on life,” said Hayley Axtell, one of Grange’s friends organizing the event. “When he was in and out of surgery he was still busting out jokes. That’s just his personality.”Grange’s accident happened in Logan shortly after Thanksgiving. He was transported by helicopter to Salt Lake City, where he was admitted to an intensive care unit. Multiple surgeries followed. Grange is now back in his classes at USU

All proceeds from Friday’s event will be go to Grange. Additional donations can be made at Zions Bank under the Grange Donations account.
