LOGAN –An 8-year old girl was rescued by the Logan Fire Department Tuesday afternoon when she climbed a tree near Willow Park and got too scared to come down.

Logan Police Lt. Brad Franke said the girl was stuck 40 feet off the ground when the girl’s family called 911 at approximately 3:48 p.m. A fire engine was sent to the scene, and the girl was brought safety down via the engine’s ladder. Logan police also responded to the scene, he said.

“One of the officers climbed up the tree and assisted her in climbing down to where the ladders could reach her,” Franke said. “She’d been up there at least 10 minutes, so it wasn’t an extended period of time, but she got scared.”

Franke said the girl was visibly shaken, but did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident.
