LOGAN – A Logan man was sentenced to 120 days in Cache County Jail Tuesday morning in 1st District Court.
Jimmy Willis, 24, was charged with burglary and obstructing justice, both third-degree felonies, for a crime he committed in 2010 when he and a friend broke into a house and stole an Xbox and several video games. The games were found at a second-hand store and were traced back to Willis. Detective Slade C. Gurr of the Logan City Police Department interviewed the two men, who lied and blamed the burglary on a man named Tony Zook.
Willis had a summons for his arrest but after he was unreachable by phone and was said to have moved to California, a warrant was filed for his arrest.
Willis was jailed for 22 days and released on his own recognizance. Those days will be credited toward his sentence. He was also fined $666 and will be placed on probation for 36 months.
Judge Willmore granted him permission to report to jail the day after his daughter’s surgery, which is on Nov. 20.
