Millville plastics company plans expansion under new owner

MILLVILLE – Silicone Plastics, one of the city’s largest companies, is moving forward under new owner Brett Hadfield.

Hadfield is the owner, operator and president of the company. Around this time last year Hadfield, a former Utah State University student, was an accountant at the company, which manufactures custom plastic injection molding. Previous owner Steve Miller announced his resignation in order to serve a church mission. Hadfield had interest in acquiring the company, and officially acquired ownership rights on New Year’s Day.
Hadfield, a lifelong resident of Millville, said he plans on maintaining a positive image in the community by doing whatever he can to help contribute. The company is focused on charity work and respect for those living near the facilities. He also emphasized the importance of local business and employment.
“I think one of the biggest things we do to support the community is hire local employees,” said Hadfield. “We have some employees from Millville and the rest are from other places in Cache Valley. We have about 50 workers.”
Silicone Plastics produces products for local and international clients alike. They manufacture anything from plastic cases for blenders to LED light protectors on the Las Vegas Strip. The company was founded in 1991 with additional facilities amended in 2006.

So what expansion is being planned? It talks about the new owner, but where does it talk about expansion or changes? Very misleading title.

“I think one of the biggest things we do to support the community is hire local employees…” This made me laugh. Most of the people that work in Cache Valley live here. That isn’t anything to brag about. I agree with Trit. There is nothing about expansion, about charity work, or those living by the business that have to be respected. What are they doing to even include such a comment? Poor article.
