PARADISE–A representative for the Ruby Pipeline contractors told the Town Council Wednesday more trucks carrying supplies would be traveling to and from Paradise, resulting in an increase of traffic.

“The company is looking to hire about 150 new workers and the best way to apply is through Rubypipeline.com,” he said. “Construction should be finished by early next year but there will still be clean-up crews around here.”

Paradise has two big projects this year, one being the Ruby Pipeline construction project and the other is a possible land purchase of 15 acres located in the southern part of Paradise. They hope to build a new town hall and fire department there in the next ten to 15 years. A motion was passed that the town will not exceed $220,000 on purchasing the land.

There was an electrical problem with one of Paradise’s three wells and it had to be shut down Sept. 3. Paradise now only has one working well out of three that supply the town’s water.
