LOGAN—The brightly colored purses, the clip of high-priced shoes, and the pencil skirts and striking blazers graced the Kappa Delta volunteer models as they catwalked at Dillard’s in the Cache Valley Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

As the graduation season approaches, many young women and men will be looking for jobs and trying to impress their future employers in interviews.

One of the best ways to feel confident in those interviews is to dress for success, being professional and sophisticated, said Elaine Fistere, Dillard’s women’s ready-to-wear manager.

“When you walk into an interview, you want them to remember you,” said Fistere.

Fistere and sales associates Amanda Merrell wanted to do something to help women feel more prepared as they enter the work force in tough economic times. So for Dillard’s fashion show, Fistere picked Antonio Melani clothing because it is aimed at younger women and is considered fashion-forward, classic, sophisticated and timeless, she said.

Aiming to be trendy, yet professional, the clothing line tends run longer in length than traditional clothing, said store manager Susan Towns.

“You’ll be successful in life and your career when you put it on,” Towns said.  “It should be an investment and that’s how you should look at it.”

Of course, some of the outfits seem a little out of reach of students who are only now looking for work, carrying pricetags well into the $600-$700 range.
