Two-car crash in North Logan sends driver to hospital

NORTH LOGAN—Paramedics transported an injured woman to Logan Regional Hospital today after the car she was driving was broadsided by another car. The accident happened as she was turning left from a Chevron parking lot at 1936 N. Main St. at 2:30 p.m.
Sergeant John Seamons of the North Park Police Department said the woman, driving a white Dodge Neon, is believed to have been alone and was injured on impact. EMTs were able to remove her from the car and rush her to the hospital. It appeared that her neck and leg were injured, Seamons said.
The other vehicle, a white Lexus GX, was traveling northbound on Main Street. It was driven by a woman with two children in her car.
Seamons said that both parties were injured, but the mother and children were in good enough condition to transport themselves to the hospital. Seamons said he could not release the victim’s names or details at this time.
A gas station attendant, Tiffany Landon, said she heard the crash and called 911. She said just before the accident, the women driving the Dodge had been in the store buying a Snickers bar.
“We think what happened was the girl pulled out of the parking lot here and didn’t check for oncoming traffic and got broadsided,” Seamons said. However, police cannot be sure what happened at this time because they were not able to interview the woman before she was transported to the hospital, he added.
The accident caused traffic on North Main Street to slow for about 30 minutes.
