LOGAN — First District Court Judge Kevin Allen sentenced a Logan woman to spend three weekends in jail and complete 96 hours of community service. Sandra Moreno was charged in July for driving under the influence, while she had children in the car as well. She pleaded guilty to the charges.

“I am sorry about what happened,” said Moreno. “I do have problems. This will not happen again, especially with others involved. It’s not what I want in my life.”

In order to accommodate the working mother, after a positive report from Bear River, Allen allowed Moreno to serve her time on the weekends after work.

She was told to report to the jail Dec. 6 at approximately 7 p.m. and will be released Sunday evening at around the same time, and will do that for the next three weekends. For the 96 hours of community service she’ll need to get with her probation officer, Allen said.

She will also have to pay an $800 fine and a $720 surcharge.
