Logan men arrested on probation violations

LOGAN—Police received a tip Tuesday night that men on probation were drinking alcohol. Officer JJ Gabriel responded to the anonymous tip in the area of 1450 South and 250 West around 8:30 p.m. and found three adults and one minor consuming alcohol.
According to Lt. Brad Franke of the Logan City Police Department, two of the adults were in violation of probation and were taken into custody by a probation officer. The two adults, 24-year-old Chad Slinkey and 22-year-old Alex Navarro, both of Logan, were booked at the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. Franke said both Slinkey and Navarro will receive “additional punishment” for violating their probation.
Alan Portortillo, 18, was cited at the scene for minor in possession of alcohol, a class B misdemeanor, and will have to appear before the Logan Municipal Court.
