LOGAN—Michael C. Dexter, 22, was arrested Tuesday morning in Providence on counts of theft, forgery, and possession of controlled substances.
“It was reported that he had stolen some checks,” said David Bennett, chief deputy of the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.
He was booked into jail on counts of forgery for issuing stolen checks, possession of forgeries for having the stolen checks in his possession, two counts of theft and two counts of theft by deception for using the stolen check and issuing a bad check. Three counts of possession of marijuana were added later.
“The officer found marijuana during the search after the checks were found,” said Bennett.
Dexter’s bail was set at $29,000. Bennett said his arraignment will probably be Nov. 1.
