MILLVILLE–A public hearing will be held at the Dec. 9 Millville City Council meeting to consider a proposed ordinance banning the synthetic cannabinoid known as “spice.”

“I would like to see a public hearing about the ordinance,” Mayor Mike Johnson said.

In other business, a new co-advisor for the city Youth Council was appointed and approved to replace the current co-advisor. The current co-advisor became employed and therefore needed to be replaced.

The council is considering bundling Internet and telephone services in order to save money. They discussed their options and decided to check different companies out before making their final decision.

This year’s Christmas festivities were also discussed. The city will hold their festivities on Dec. 4. Santa will be there from 10 a.m. to noon and we will have treats, Councilman Jared Taylor said.

Millville Memories Book was put on the agenda for the next meeting. It keeps going to be edited and comes back without corrections, Councilman Mike Jessop said. “It keeps going back and forth.”

The zoning map will also be reviewed at the public hearing on Dec. 9.

The Nov. 25 council meeting has been cancelled due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
