North Logan Easter egg hunt Saturday at 11 sharp – don’t be late

NORTH LOGAN—The 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be better than the first, and not just because of the weather. “Last year, that week we got six inches of snow, so we weren’t expecting anyone to show,” said Alan Luce, director of Parks, Recreations, and Facilities.

But despite the snow, 500 people showed up and the 1,500 eggs went fast. “They blew the whistle and in about 30 seconds every egg was gone,” Luce said.

This year’s Easter egg hunt on April 23 at Elk Ridge Park, 1060 E. 2500 North, will have 2,500 to 3,000 eggs, Luce said. Some of the eggs will have prize tickets inside that kids can redeem for toys and other items. The eggs, candy and prizes were donated by Walmart and Chick-fil-a.

Luce said the Easter bunny will also be there for pictures. “And there may be a cow,” Luce said. “Since Chick-fil-a is sponsoring, sometimes they bring their cow.”

The Easter egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. and Luce said he encourages people to be there on time. “If you’re even five minutes late, you might miss it,” Luce said.
