LOGAN—Utah State University’s annual Thanksgiving Pie and Roll Sale has begun.

The sale, by USU’s Dining and Catering services, began in early November, and orders can be placed with USU Catering until Nov. 18

“This is the third year we’ve organized the pie and roll sale,” said Laura Sullivan, a social media specialist for USU Catering, who assisted in advertising the sale.

Each piecrust is flaky and has a buttery flavor, she said. And they’re fresh. “The pies are baked on campus, at the USU Catering Triple Beam Bakery,” Sullivan said.

Customers can choose from among 17 flavors of pie and three kinds of rolls. The specialty pies—macadamia, pecan and pumpkin cheesecake—range from $12 to $15. Other pies are $9, and a dozen rolls range from $2.50 to $3.

“The most popular item that has been ordered has been the apple cinnamon streusel pie,” said Annie Christensen, a sales associate for USU Catering. “And the pumpkin cheesecake is popular. It’s what is most commonly associated with the time of year and the holidays.”

To place an order for pies or rolls, customers can call USU Catering or fill out an order form. “Our employees can go out and sell the baked goods too,” Christensen said.

Order forms are found in dining locations on campus—The Hub, The Marketplace, The Quadside Café and The Quickstop.

“So far we have had 15 people order multiple pies from our sale,” Christensen said. “We are expecting to have anywhere from 25 to 50 people order.”

“The best thing about ordering through us is that you don’t have to bake it yourself,” Sullivan said.
