Record sales for local art gallery, Winborg Masterpieces

October 22nd, 2015 Posted in Business

A local art gallery in downtown Logan, Winborg Masterpieces, has sold more paintings in the past two weeks than it usually does in a year.

The rise in sales within this two week period occurred because all paintings at Winborg Masterpieces are half-off to celebrate the 50-year anniversary since Larry Winborg, the owner and featured painter of the gallery, became a professional artist.

“We have never offered a discount this big before,” Winborg said. “This is the first time and most likely the last that we will offer such a deal.”

Winborg said the amount of people who have come into the gallery has greatly increased since the sale began on Oct. 10.

“The reaction has been beyond our expectations,” said Sydne Winborg, who runs the day-to-day operations of the gallery and is married to Larry. “We had a goal set for how much we wanted to sell and we have far exceeded that.”

Winborg Masterpieces has used a variety of ways to let the public know about the sale.

“We have used the radio, newspaper, word of mouth, invitations, and social media,” Sydne Winborg said. “Most people that have come in have said that they heard about the sale through the radio and newspaper.”

“There are a lot of different types of work in the gallery from landscapes, portraits and abstracts,” Larry Winborg said. “There’s something for everybody.”

The 50 percent discount ends Saturday. Further information can be found at www.winborg.com.
