PROVIDENCE — An accident at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday injured 10 people. According to witnesses, a semi truck ran a red light at the intersection of 1200 South and State Road 165, setting off a multiple car crash.
The truck was traveling north on Highway 165 and rolled over several times, narrowly missing the gas tanks at the Maverik gas station, said Ashley Taranelli, Logan.
Taranelli’s car was struck on the front driver’s side by a mini-van traveling the opposite direction. She was not hurt. She said she had no time to react before hitting the mini-van and did not see the truck run the red light.
The truck lay on its side in the Jiffy Lube parking lot and exploded several times, sending thick black smoke high into the evening sky, before firefighters put the fire out.
