SMITHFIELD—A 20-year-old Smithfield woman was arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail on counts of burglary, theft and forgery. Loren Hansen was arrested by detective Wes Land of the Logan City Police Department on Nov. 19. She was released after posting bail.
According to LCPD Captain Jeff Curtis, Hansen has a criminal history with alcohol and tobacco use as a minor as well as previous burglaries. Curtis also pointed out the house that Hansen is accused of burglarizing is her relative’s, and that she stole checks and forged them to obtain cash and jewelry. Curtis said she admitted she committed the crime.
Hansen was arrested while at her job at the market research firm Western Wats, Curtis said. He said she acted cooperatively.
