LOGAN – Three men were arrested early Saturday morning after a disturbance was reported at Lee’s Marketplace.

Monte Hunter Keiaho, 24, North Logan; Paul Fakahua, 22, Logan; and Tuuta Folaukovi Takai, 25, Logan, were taken into custody by Logan City Police and booked into Cache County Jail.

The call was received at 11:44 p.m. on Friday from an employee of the supermarket complaining that the men were harassing customers and seemed to be intoxicated. Back up was requested during the arrest at 555 E 1400 North in Logan.

“Two of them were extremely belligerent – fighting and arguing with us. The other one was cooperative,” said LCPD officer Michael Graves, who arrived at the scene in the midst of the struggle. “I got there when they were just getting the one guy into the car so I went to the other guy on the ground. It took us 5-10 minutes just to get him in the car.”

During the struggle police used a Taser to help control the situation.

“One male, after he was taken into custody, continued to kick and damaged a police car,” said Lt. Brad Franke. “He kicked an officer’s face when they were trying to get him into his car. The third male was compliant although he did give some false information about his name and was then charged.”

After the police brought them to jail, they continued to be “extremely belligerent and uncooperative,” said Graves.

“I don’t know if that was alcohol,” he said. “They are under the influence of something. When you’re under the influence of something your brain doesn’t work quite right.”
