LOGAN–A man was arrested Wednesday night and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence, a third-degree felony. Cody Johnson, 30, of Logan, was also booked on counts of driving with a denied license, disorderly conduct, possession of an open container of alcohol, and misuse of a conditional license, all misdemeanors.

Chief Deputy David Bennett of the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said Johnson was found outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home in Providence. The ex-girlfriend was reportedly speaking to a friend on the phone when Johnson started banging on her door. She did not open it, Bennett said. The sheriff’s office received an anonymous report, possibly from the friend on the phone, about the incident along with a description of Johnson’s vehicle.

Bennett said Johnson was heading back to his car and had the keys in his possession when deputies arrived. Johnson appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and had clearly driven to the house.

According to the sheriff’s office records, Johnson was cited last year on one count of driving without insurance and one count of driving without a license. Either one of those could have been the cause behind Johnson’s conditional license and the denial of it, he said. Their records show no history of other traffic violations or misconduct.
