Wellsville man pleads guilty to supplying alcohol to a minor

LOGAN–A Wellsville man pleaded guilty in 1st District Court Thursday to knowingly supplying alcohol to a minor.
Lee Kenneth Maughan, 22, pleaded guilty in exchange for his charge being reduced from a class-A misdemeanor to a class-B misdemeanor. He was also originally charged with illegally taking, transporting, selling or purchasing protected wildlife; however, that charge was dismissed.
Maughan was arrested July 29 at Hyrum Dam. An officer spotted Maughan and two other individuals drinking on the shore. When the officer questioned the trio, Maughan admitted to supplying alcohol to one of the other individuals who was a minor.
Judge Clint S. Judkins scheduled Maughan’s sentencing for Nov. 14 at 9 a.m.
