WELLSVILLE  — The City Council approved a Level 2 home occupation permit that will allow resident Peter Nielson to run his construction business, Accurate Homes, from his own home.

Represented by his wife Amy Nielson at the meeting, Peter Neilson has been operating his business for four and a half years and currently fields no employees other than Peter himself. The permit allows the Nielsons to park a pair of trailers at the rear of the property, something that neighbors have no issues with.

“The code says it should not be obvious to neighbors that a business is there,” said Councilman Russell Glen.

Nielson will appear before the council next Wednesday to obtain a license.

Also on the agenda was approval of a property line adjustment at the intersection of 800 South and 100 East Based on a survey, a barn resting on one property actually crossed the property line onto the land hosting a subdivision.

In a unanimous vote, the council approved the adjustment, with the only significant aspect being responsibility for maintenance of the irrigation ditch that changed properties in the adjustment. Both parties involved agreed that maintenance would remain with the original owner.

The council will reconvene Wednesday, Dec 5.
