LOGAN –Erika Jarvis, 20, pleaded guilty to five class A misdemeanors March 16 in First District Court.

According to court documents the charges were for unlawfully entering vehicles with the intent to commit felony or theft. The thefts occurred between March 15 and May 30, 2009, in Logan Canyon.

Herbert R. Watson, a detective with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, wrote in an affidavit that Jarvis and her boyfriend, Nicholas L. Petersen, both of Garden City, were apprehended by officers of the Rich County Sheriff’s Office during a car burglary in Garden City.

Jarvis and Petersen were driving a black pickup registered to Jarvis when they were apprehended. The pickup contained items that appeared to be stolen, Watson wrote.

The officers of the Rich County Sheriff’s Office then obtained a search warrant for Jarvis and Petersen’s residence at 1223 Valley View Dr. in Garden City, Watson wrote. During the search, officers found a laptop that had been stolen from a vehicle in Logan Canyon.

Watson wrote that Petersen waived his Miranda rights and told police of the burglaries in Logan Canyon. According to Watson, Petersen said Jarvis had planned and drove the vehicle for the thefts.

Judge Thomas Willmore, who presided at the pretrial conference Tuesday, said each misdemeanor could carry up to a year in jail for Jarvis. Willmore said Jarvis needs to meet with Adult Probation and Parole before her next appearance on April 22.
